Brian Albert Gordon Auger was born on 18 July 1939 in Hammersmith, London, UK.
For over forty years, Brian Auger has been a musician’s musician. Jazz pianist, bandleader, session man, Hammond B3 innovator, and key player in the rise of jazz/rock fusion, Brian has done it all and then some. An incredible gentleman with one of the most varied careers in music, he has incorporated jazz, early British pop, R&B, soul and rock into an incredible catalog that has won him legions of fans all over the world.
Auger has played or toured with artists such as Rod Stewart, Tony Williams, Jimi Hendrix, John McLaughlin, Sonny Boy Williamson, Led Zeppelin, Eric Burdon, Paul McCartney, Yardbirds, Julie Driscoll, Van Morrison, Jimmy Page and others. He has incorporated jazz, early British pop, R&B, soul music and rock. With over 30 albums to his name and lengthy stints on the RCA and Warner Bros. labels, Brian Auger has accumulated GRAMMY Nominations, 10 albums charting in Billboards Hot 100, a #1 single, and the title of “The Godfather of Acid Jazz”.
