Born December 3rd, 1948 in Birmingham, England, John Michael "Ozzy" Osbourne found his first taste of fame as frontman for the influential heavy metal band Black Sabbath.
Osbourne was fired from Black Sabbath in 1979 and has since had a successful solo career, releasing 11 studio albums, the first seven of which were all awarded multi-platinum certifications in the US. He has reunited with Black Sabbath on several occasions, recording the album ‘13’ in 2013.
As a member of Black Sabbath, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and he was inducted into the UK Music Hall of Fame as a solo artist and as a member of the band.
The launching of the Ozzfest and the reality TV show based on his family "The Osbournes" served to keep him in the public eye while he continued to release new material.
