This Day In Music 06.05.2016
Bob Seger is still going strong at 71.
Robert Clark Seger was born May 6th 1945 in Lincoln Park Michigan. He was active in the Detroit music scene through the 60's, eventually scoring a local Detroit hit with Ramblin' Gamblin' Man with the Bob Seger System. The track charted in Canada, but not in the USA. It features another Detroit native, Glen Frey who went on to form the Eagles.
Following the regional success of Ramblin' Gamblin' Man in 1969, Seger didn't score another hit until the release of Live Bullet in 1975. This was followed by the massive Night Moves album in 1976. From then on he recorded hits through the 80's and was inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2004, and the Songwriter's Hall of Fame in 2012. Although now 71, Bob Seger still sells out concert halls.
Seger lives mainly at his home in Orchard Lake Village, a suburb of Detroit, with his wife Juanita.
