Best Wishes to Taylor Hanson
Taylor Hanson is an American musician, best known as a member of pop rock band Hanson.
Taylor Hanson was born on 14 March 1983 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Taylor is the second of seven children. At a young age, Taylor and his brothers, Isaac and Zac, discovered their father's rock 'n' roll album collection and became interested in music. The boys would walk around the house singing, later picking up instruments that they found in thrift stores. Taylor was drawn to the piano. In 1992, Taylor and his older brother Isaac started the band with his younger brother Zac, they were initially known as The Hanson Brothers (later changed to just 'Hanson').
Hanson was certainly reminiscent of an earlier era, namely the early '70s, when teens could rule the top of the charts. Like the Jackson 5, the Cowsills, and the mythological Partridge Family, all of the members of Hanson were brothers. Isaac, aged 16 at the time of their debut, played guitar; 13-year-old Taylor sang lead and played keyboards; drummer Zac was 11 years old. They performed as an a cappella group outside clubs in their hometown of Tulsa. On May 6, 1997, the band released their first major studio album, Middle of Nowhere, with Mercury Records. The first single, MMMBop, made it to number one on the Billboard Hot 100. May 6 has been declared "Hanson Day" in Tulsa in honor of the release of Middle of Nowhere.
Hanson's follow-up to Middle of Nowhere was Snowed In, which also sold platinum and went Top 10. In 2000, the brothers released This Time Around, which went gold. The band has continued to record albums, but has not been able to replicate the success of their first effort.
In 2009, Taylor formed the super-group band Tinted Windows, which brought together former Smashing Pumpkins guitarist James Iha, Fountains of Wayne's Adam Schlesinger and Cheap Trick drummer Bun E. Carlos. Taylor Hanson is a co-founder and co-CEO of 3CG Records, along with brothers Isaac and Zac Hanson.
