It's so-called “The Vinyl Revival”
In recent years, the sales of vinyl records have significantly increased as young music lovers are discovering the physical LP. In the first half of 2015 aIone vinyl sales increased by 52%, probably because people would want to buy a copy of their favourite album on vinyl and not necessarily the newest release. According to Nielson report, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon sold 50,000 records this past year, the third highest selling album on vinyl. A growing number of people are choosing to stream newly released digital albums rather than purchasing them. With the increasing popularity of platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music buyers have access to all new music for just $10 a month. The artists are starting to take notice of the trend and decide to release their back-catalogue on vinyl and the labels too, judging by Record Store Day's Annual parade of reissues.
This year Record Store Day is observed on 16 April 2016.
Disney, together with Crosley, released for the Record Store Day 2016 an iconic vintage suitcase-style three-speed turntable. Only available through Deer Park Distributors after March 1, 2016.
