Jeff Ament talks about New LP and tour with RNDM and Pearl Jam 25th Anniversary Tour
RNDM is the side-project of Pearl Jam bassist, Jeff Ament, singer/songwriter, Joseph Arthur and The Fastbacks/War Babies drummer Richard Stuverud.
Ghost Riding, the second album by RNDM, has been released via Dine Alone Records on March 04, a follow-up to their 2012 debut Acts.
As reported, in order to recreate the sounds from the album, Stuverud will be controlling a laptop with a drum machine on it and Ament and Arthur will both be triggering samples. "It's like nothing I've ever done," says Ament. "It's going to be a blast because it's going to be brand new territory, but there's definitely some anxiety. We probably won't get it all down until the end of the tour."
The next RNDM dates in the U.S. will be:
March 11 - Boston, MA @ Brighton Music Hall
March 13 - Toronto, ON @ Mod Club
March 15 - Chicago, IL @ Double Door
Talking about Pearl Jam's next record with Andy Green of Rolling Stone Ament said “ I don't know. I think there's talk of getting together and throwing some ideas together. There's no plan of making a record yet. When we got together in South America [late last year] there was lots of talk of how we wanted to do it and in what ways we wanted it to be different, what things we liked about the last record. It's just in the planning stages and everyone deciding when the time is. Usually it just takes somebody to call somebody else and be like, "Hey, do you want to go into the studio next month?" And that just hasn't happened yet.
“The conversations down there were just sort of like, "Man, it would be cool if we did this or tried it this way." It was just throwing ideas back and forth. There was no dates or anything in mind. I think because everybody's got families and stuff, it just gets trickier and trickier trying to nail people down. But I honestly feel that if somebody just called and said, "Hey, let's go in the studio in October or whatever," we would. It would be done. I think it's just gonna take that.”
Pearl Jam's last album was Lightning Bolt, released in october 2013.
Pearl Jam will start their 25th Anniversary Tour on April 4 in Ft Lauderdale, Florida U.S., ending on August 22 in Chicago, Illinois.
