Prophets of Rage drop first single right before tonight's Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
Prophets of Rage dropped a self-titled single right before the start of the Republican National Convention in Cleveland where the supergroup will be competing against the GOP with its concert Tuesday night (July 19).
The single from amalgamated members of Public Enemy, Rage Against the Machine and Cypress Hill re-imagines P.E.’s 1988 anthem 'Prophets of Rage', starting off with a distinctive air raid siren before going into a military march drumbeat and then a head-banging guitar riff. Listen below!
Talking about the groups formation, guitarist Tom Morello said that they are an “elite task force of revolutionary musicians determined to confront this mountain of election year bullshit”.
The group’s show in Cleveland tonight, July 19, which coincides with the Republican National Convention, is part of its summer tour titled “Make America Rage Again”.
The group’s twitter page has even launched a campaign against the RNC, tweeting “The Battle of Cleveland: Prophets of Rage vs. the RNC”.
