Phil Collins: “Absolutely would have joined The Who”
Collins says he'd have loved to have taken over from the late Keith Moon.
Collins had been a member of Genesis for eight years when The Who’s drummer Keith Moon died in 1978. However, he admitted during a Guardian webchat that he would have quit the band to replace Moon.
“Absolutely would have joined The Who. I would have left Genesis to join The Who”, Collins said. “But they’ve got a great drummer now in Zak Starkey [Ringo Starr’s son], he’s fantastic. Someone with the balls that Keith Moon had.”.
Phil Collins is getting back on the road next year, confirming a five-show in June, as follow:
London, Royal Albert Hall (June 4, 5, 7, 8, 9)
Cologne, Lanxess Arena (11, 12)
Paris, Accors Hotel Arena (18, 19)
Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Oct. 21), at 9 a.m.
