The Smiths get a Twitter account
The account has yet to Tweet, and seems most likely to be used to promote existing records, but the existence of a new Twitter account for the Morrissey fronted band almost 30 years after their demise in 1987 could be worth keeping an eye on.
The Smiths have never come particularly close to a reunion since their split, with Johnny Marr telling XFM in 2009: "I think we were offered 50 million dollars for three ... possibly five shows."
Rare tracks by the band appeared a few months ago on a fan site, including an early demo of 'Never Had No One Ever'.
The songs appeared on the website Morrissey-solo.com. Among the collection were an early demo of 'Never Had No One Ever', from a 1986 recording session for 'The Queen Is Dead'.
